Final Magazine

Front Cover

Final

By taking a final look at my front cover and taking into account the comments made by both my lecturer and peers I noticed that there were a couple of changes I could make to my front cover in order to improve it. The majority of the issue was with the vast spaces on the page. After experimenting with alterations in the locations of my conventions I came to the conclusion that something new was needed to be added to complete the page. I even attempted to change the banner across the bottom to make it thinner and allowing me to add another sub-heading:

However this banner did not look as impressive amongst the domination range of other featured on the cover. After carrying out various experimentations I came with the conclusion of adding a shape to the cover, I chose stars as they seemed relevant to the music stars (artists) who are going to be featured inside the magazine. I liked the effect these stars made on the page as they filled a lot of unwanted space and in my opinion make the cover look more complete and professional.

Contents Page

Final

I studied my contents page and after careful consideration I came to believe that I am happy with how my contents page looked without any final changes. The only feature I would have changed is the slight space above the the title 'Contents' however is I was to alter this I believe there would be gaps created elsewhere on the page and would make it more difficult to find an appropriate location for the magazine companies website address, issue number and the date of release.

Double-Page Spread

Final

After re-reading the comments made by my peers and lecturer I decided that I had to make some alterations to my double-page spread in order to make it more appealing to the target audience.
I had numerous comments on the headline saying that the font was too boring, this would not be acceptable as this would not appeal to the audience and catch their attention. I therefore took action by experimenting with various fonts and sizes until I found the font 'Lucida Handwriting' and chose the appropriate font size of 44. This font size and style took up more space, thus leaving less gaps on the page and made it look more professional and entertaining for the audience.
I also noticed that i had a couple of comments on the amount of text I had used. Saying that the font is too big and that I needed more text. I therefore amended this as I increased the length of the interview by adding two questions and then fixing the layout of the page. I then shrunk the size of the album poster as I believed it to look too dominant over the page which was inappropriate, this also allowed the flow of the page to be better suited for the interview.
